Jurassic Park Movies In Order

Like nearly everything else Steven Spielberg touches, Jurassic Park is a hair raising action movie that incites primal fears in all of us. At the time of its release it was the highest grossing film ever, shattering previous records. In the worldwide box office, Spielberg’s soon to be legendary movie earned just shy of a billion dollars in revenue. At a time where CGI was in its infancy, Jurassic Park generated all of the dinosaurs with computers, adding a whole new level of realism to this awesome movie. Ever since its release date in 1993, this franchise has been dominating many aspects of popular culture including books, comics, video games, and more. With another movie planned for 2015, this movie series will have continued success for many years to come.

Like many movie series, I recommend watching the Jurassic Park movies in order. Now that’s not to say that if you start in the middle you’ll be completely lost, you probably won’t be. Each movie, for the most part, is a standalone. However, you’ll definitely have a far better idea of what’s going on if you watch them chronologically in order of release date. It’s not as crucial as say, The Lord of the Rings, but still, for maximum enjoyment, stick to the order that they were released in.

Jurassic Park has made major headway into popular culture. And how couldn’t it? Everybody loves dinosaurs, especially children. For this reason, it’s no wonder this series has engrained itself in the video game industry over the last 20 years. When it first came out in 1993, the video game industry was still very young. However, that didn’t stop the franchise owners from releasing games for NES and Game Boy. As time went on, games were released for increasingly powerful systems eventually making their way to Xbox 360 and PS3.

Because of the success of the most recent movie in the series made in 2001, rumors have been spreading about subsequent releases. However, up until 2013 they were just that: rumors. Last year Universal Pictures confirmed the next big installment of this series will be released in 2015 in 3D. The movie has a cast, director, and if everything holds out, we should definitely see some concrete evidence of it in the next few months.

It’s surprising we haven’t seen this franchise introduce a new film recently. With each release, the box office earnings clearly indicate high approval ratings from fans and critics alike. Each movie has earned substantial amounts of money with the three totaling roughly 2 billion dollars worldwide. Critics agree, Rotten Tomatoes ranks the original movie a solid 93%, with later movies ranking slightly lower.

Jurassic Park is one of those movies that can entertain people of all ages. Dinosaurs are a theme that everybody can enjoy and the box office proves it. With a movie planned for 2015, this cool franchise isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. The original film in 1993 paved the way for CGI in its day, and hopefully the 2015 release will do the same thing with 3D technology. Make sure you watch all the older films in their correct order, you’ve got a year before the new one comes out!

I think it’s really funny and genuine when you can tell the dinosaur isn’t real from the old movies since they didn’t really have the enhanced technology that we do now to make it as realistic looking as it is. Looking at Jurassic World, they did a phenomenal job in that aspect but the early gen still has my heart. ? ??
