Mission Impossible Movies In Order

The Mission Impossible series is one of the most popular action spy films ever made. Rivaled by the Jason Bourne series, and James Bond, Mission impossible is the 17th highest grossing series to have ever been filmed. Rogue Nation which came out earlier this year will be the 5th movie in this installment making 2015 a hot year for spy movies. Other hot action/spy movies this year are Kingsman: The Secret Service, James Bond’s Spectre, and Bridge of Spies.

If you’re wondering if it’s important to watch the Mission Impossible movies in order, it is not. Like many film series, each of these movies contains their own separate plot and can be fully enjoyed without any pre-perquisites. However, like all movies which contain similar characters throughout the series, we still recommend viewing the movies in order. It may for instance enhance your enjoyment of Ghost Protocol if you have seen MI1 MI2 and MI3. They contain similar characters, and you will grow to love each character’s different nuances and personality.

In keeping with the part of this successful franchise, Rogue Nation has already grossed $650 million as of September 20th making it the most profitable Mission Impossible movie to date. Like its predecessor Ghost Protocol, Rogue Nation has some of the highest fan approval compared to any other movies before it. With a 92% on Rotten Tomatoes and a 7.7 on IMDB, this movie has been huge with fans all over the world.

Due to the increased success of the last two installments in this series, rumors have been swirling about a possible 6th movie being released. In late July it was rumored that Paramont had already begun filming the latest movie, and these rumors were partially confirmed by Tom Cruise just a few days later on the Daily Show. While Paramont is not currently working on a new Mission Impossible movie, he hopes they will begin filming by 2016. At this time it is unknown who will be directing or featured in the latest flick.

Do to the recent success of the latest two movies in this series, it’s clear that Mission Impossible is here to stay. Quickly becoming a classic like James Bond, this action packed thriller is rapidly growing in popularity. From the name to the theme song, this popular spy film is becoming an iconic American household name. Since its inception nearly 20 years earlier there have been video games, action figures, and more that honor what is now a highly recognizable brand.
