American Pie Movies In Order

Since the first film in 1999, the American Pie movie series was instantly a classic. Nobody can forget the famous scene with character Jim Levenstein who was played by Jason Biggs hovering over that lukewarm pie as his father walks in on him. Since that movie, this franchise has spawned three additionally sequels, the latest hitting theaters in 2012. The four movies have netted the creators nearly one billion dollars, making this a remarkably successful movie series. There have even been four separate spin off movies which use the same characters, but are not considered part of the original series. Some of these movies, including Band Camp were direct to DVD and were not shown in theaters.

The above is a complete list of the American Pie movies in order. However, I should mention that they probably do not have to be watched in the correct order. While it’s true that the movies follow the same characters and some of the later movies reference earlier ones, it’s not necessary to watch them in order. This isn’t really the type of series that you watch for the plot line anyways, you watch it for the laughs. Pick whatever movie you think is funniest (probably the first one anyhow) and watch it. Each film contains its own separate plot, and can be watched independently from the rest.

American pie was extremely popular when it was released. It developed a dedicated fan base, and there are multiple pop culture references to these movies. The same group of characters has been used in multiple movies, including the four spin offs of the American pie series. The series was warmly received by the public, getting high ratings on the both initial movie, and the sequels. The original film garnished a 7.0 on IMDB, while the sequels gained anywhere from 6.4-6.8. The Rotten Tomato rating was only a 61%, but for a movie in the adult comedy genre, that’s a pretty good rating on such a highly critical review website.

American Pie will always be known for its adult humor and awkward sexual moments. From the famous pie scene to the premature ejaculation scene, this movie will live on in history. With four continually popular movies released since 1999, it’s clear that movie fans all over the world love this series. Maybe it’s because we can all relate to the hilariously awkward moments, or the young boys quest to break their virginity. Either way, this film series has earned its spot in comedy history.
